The Official Accreditor issued a document in November last year detailing all credits in the scheme along with ways to bridge from earlier versions of ITIL to v3.

There was not seen to be any requirement for a specific bridge for Practitioners because it was felt that they would largely be catered for by the Managers Bridge. However, there is provision for Practitioners who hold a minimum of 12 credits from an earlier version to then take the Managing across the Lifecycle and Managers Bridge qualifications

Full details are contained within the document

Thanks Rosemary. It tells a lot, but still ambiguous.

for example
Mapping on the V2 Practitioner to V3 Capability Modules.
Page 27 V2 Practitioner  says "...not possible to describe in detail here..."

If I were the practitioner holders (cluster), I don't have a clear direction to go ITIL EXPERT and take self-determination as PPO = IPPI, SOA = IPAD, RCV = IPRC and OSA = IPSR as well as SS & CSI = IPPI, SD = IPAD, ST = IPRC and SO = IPSR.

Hope the document make clear on
Page 13  Service Capability modules - have a clear V2 mapping
Page 24  Selection Modules to Achieve ITIL Expert Certification - not just the V3 combination only.

and also
Page 17  ITIL Service Management Expert Certification
no mention about the candidates who hold a V2 Practitioner

In addition to what Rocky mentioned, it is not clear for ITIL Practitioner which Intermediate courses are equivalent to their cluster.

It is mentioned in one document, that no credit will be given if the practitioner take a course equivalent to their cluster ... but no other details.

Who could clarify this point?

However, I can't find the item V2 Practitioner Module Security Management on the list.

Does it mean  no credit for it ?  :(

Hi Rocky.

At present this profiler only includes the qualifications you probably has seen on a number of official slides from APMG presented by numerous people and also included in the ITIL V3 training material.

Other qualifications like the V2 Practitioner Module Security Management you mentioned and the ICT Infrastructure Management qualification (which I believe only one Examination Institute (EI) was offering) are being considered. APMG has asked itSMF International to help with that and we has thus been established a subcommittee called International Qualification & Certification (IQC) Executive Sub Committee with representatives from all itSMF country local chapters. HP Suen is e.g. representing Hong Kong.

We will bee looking into these ITIL V2 qualifications and other relevant qualifications and make recommendations to APMG.

We are currently defining the process for doing this. One of the obvious steps is to receive a request from the EI owning the qualification in question.

Best regards,

Michael.
