Dear itSMF Chapter representatives,
I am writing to you to explain what will be happening with the itSMF International website next week and the reasons why.
We have been informed that the current 3rd party support, for the current website, will be withdrawn from December 31st 2007. itSMFI as you may possibly know, does not hold web-administration rights for its own website and we are therefore, by necessity, seeking to redress this imbalance.
On Monday 24th December 2007 the existing itSMF International website http://www.itsmf.org/ should no longer be available and in its place will be a holding website located at http://www.itsmf.com/. Any visitor typing either http://www.itsmf.com/ or http://www.itsmf.org/ into their web browser will automatically be directed to the holding website http://www.itsmf.com/.
A replacement itSMF International website is in process of being developed but is not scheduled to be launched until February 2008.
We shall also post a notice on the current website informing them of this temporary measure as well as a "welcoming" notice on the temporary website. This arrangement will exist until we have resolved the matter. We shall keep you updated in the New Year on progress.
