Where may I find a register of all people that has passed certain ITIL exam.
For example, I am interested who are all people from Macedonia that has ITIL foundatin certificate?
Is this public information? If yes, may I have the URL of the register.
If not, how may I check if somebody has ITIL Foundation certificate?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Dane,
The information that you seek is available but it is owned by each of the Examination Institutes (EIs) which have different methods for making it publically available.
To obtain the information you would first need to know which EI was responsible for the examination.
For example, ISEB would need written consent from the student before releasing information to a 3rd party however, if the request was being made by an ISEB accredited course provider who was validating a persons examination history, that information would be provided without the consent of the student.
With APMG, there is a website where you can search for successful candidates.
http://www.apmgroup.co.uk
Then click on the 'ITIL Swirl' half way down the page. On the right hand side of the next screen is the search for successful candidates link
I would expect that EXIN and Loyalist have their own processes as well, essentially there is no one single repository for this information.
kind regards
Rosemary Gurney

Question is, will other EI's now register successful candidates with APMG, so that you can appear on their register ???
I have to say, given PRINCE2 experiences, it is really great for quick reference checks to be able to see if someone has a certificate or not. I'm constantly amazed by the number of people who flatout lie, or strongly infer they have things like PRINCE2 Practitioner certs but actually don't !

Mike,
From my understanding of the current situation, EI's will not be sharing their information with APMG to form a central repository of successful candidates. Each EI feels strongly that it wishes to maintain its relationship with its own Training Providers and Students and they cannot be compelled to do otherwise.

This also seems to be the case for http://www.itil4success.com/. Only APMG certified people can log on, not those who have used an ATO that uses EXIN or ISEB.
Best regards,
Michael.

| I tested with Prometric (EXIN test) in the states. Couldn't find any sort of register on EXIN's web site. I was able to view my test results on the Prometric site, but it's not a publicly available register...

It isn't directly relevant to the exam qualifications, but the Institute of IT Service Management (ISM) has a register of all members. So you can find out those who have been approved by the Professional Body. The site is:
http://www.iosm.com/
The big advantage is that you know that members have not only got the exams, but have also had their experience vetted and have signed a binding code of conduct.

| The ISEB registration forms do feature an "opt in" for the APMG succesful candidate register. However, I know that candidates who have passed and opted in during September aren't showing yet.

Hi
You can also check this site. This is a voluntary site where people have posted their certification information:
http://www.certification-register.org
Please Note this is not a official release of the information from any of the examining or governing bodies. Last edited on Tue Jan 8th, 2008 07:04 by agrawalvini

All of these alternate/optional registers are by their very nature, of no real use unless 1 - your looking for a certified person or 2 - like to see your own name up in lights. The key benefit of KNOWING that you can go to a single location to verify someone's ITIL qualifications is not met by any of them and so they are of extremely limited value.
Given APMG have a track record with other successful candidate registers e.g. PRINCE2, I'm still not clear as to why they would not apply the same model with ATOs to be able to achieve a central and COMPLETE register. Is it only because there is no requirement for it in the APMG contract with the OGC ?

APMG have been successful with other registers because, in the case of Prince2, they were the organisation in control of the students for exam purposes. With ITIL, there are a number of Examination Institutes who all wish to retain ownership of this data.
However, there is a glimmer of light here, I heard yesterday that the ITIL EI's are in talks with APMG about some form of information share, so watch this space !!
